Do you see a roof tent's use only as accommodation on a car holiday and when you are out in nature? Think again! Roof tents are also insanely practical for many other occasions. Here we list a few.
1. When you arrive for an unexpected visit
If you drop in for a spontaneous visit at your friends' summer cottage or house while you are on the road and it turns out you have such a good time that you want to stay overnight, a roof tent is a convenient solution. Your friends don’t have to prepare and make beds at home (maybe they don’t even have space for it), and you don’t have to feel like you are imposing. We did this ourselves in Gotland when a spontaneous dinner with friends who had rented a house turned into a late night. A roof tent gives you the opportunity to be flexible!
2. When you get unexpected visitors
Maybe you live in a small space, or you have a summer cottage where you want to easily provide some extra sleeping places. Your visitors will definitely think it’s more fun to sleep in the roof tent than in a garden shed!
3. When you are going to a wedding or party
Sometimes it’s hard to find accommodation for those special occasions. Then it can be a smart solution to bring a roof tent to sleep in. You save on accommodation costs and can often stay right next to the place where the party is. Also, roof tents are an INCREDIBLY good conversation starter at dinner parties! We had some rental customers who tried this solution when they went to a 40th birthday party and they were very satisfied. They slept well and also got lots of curious questions about the roof tent from other party guests.
4. When you are going to a concert
When we went to Husqvarna to see The Hellacopters, we brought the roof tent instead of booking a hotel. We found a good spot to park a few minutes’ walk from the concert area, which was a bit outside town, and slept well there instead of having to take a taxi to a hotel.
5. When you are going to a festival
Those of you who have ever camped at a music festival know how awful it can be to camp at the festival campsite. Neighbors partying all night and playing a weird song on repeat, the deadly heat in the morning when the sun is shining on the tent and you have no ventilation. No, then a roof tent is a much more comfortable alternative! Sleep in the roof tent in the car park or at the designated caravan/motorcycle festival camping and wake up rested.
